The magic of Christmas reached our school library on Friday the 15th of December. The parents of Ms. Kennedy’s senior infants were invited into school to read some Christmas stories to the children. All the children settled down all cosy and warm and enjoyed listening to the story books and looking at the pictures with their parents.
After the story telling, the children had a secret surprise for the parents. They got up and recited a wonderful poem by Robert Frost called ‘Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening’.
Finally, the children waved a big goodbye and returned to their classroom to continue with their busy work.
The parents were then invited in for a warm cup of tea and a mince pie.
It was a truly magical morning up in St. Joseph’s school library.
Ps…we think a few elves may have been hiding behind the books on the shelves!
