Junk Kouture 2019

The annual Junk Kouture Fashion show took place on Friday 14th June. The halla mór was full to the brim with pupils from Senior infants to Sixth class excitedly awaiting the arrival of the models and their stunning creations.

For the past month students and teachers from sixth class have been planning and developing their designs which were amazing on the day. A huge amount of preparation began at home, so many thanks to all the parents and teachers for their encouragement and support, without which this event would not be possible.

In total fourteen designs were showcased on the day. The focus was on reusing and recycling materials such as plastic bottles, paper lunch bags, bottle caps and old newspaper.

They say a picture says a thousand words so one only had to look at the photos to see the high standard of design and ingenuity of the pupils.

As usual the wonderful Duo of  Compère Mr. O Connor and D.J Nelson created and amazing atmosphere for each model to wow the crowds with their creations and panache. As each model paraded the catwalk to rapturous applaud from the crowd an unenviable task lay with the Judging panel who had to mark each creation. There was much discussion and debate and thankfully they received assistance from the audience Cheerometer. It was a very close decision but 3rd place was awarded to “Trash King” – modelled by Femi and designed by Chloe Crosby, Kian Mc Donnell and Chelsea Campbell,Second place was awarded to “Kim Kartrashian” -modelled by Angel Stokes and created by Mikaela Mc Kenny,Sameeha , Miceal, Sara and Muhanad. First place winners were Vintage Printage created and modelled by – Marty Maughan, Andzelica and Marta.
