End of Year Principal’s Message

Children and parents/guardians it has not been easy for any of you over the last four months. The staff’s levels of admiration for all of you have increased considerably since school closed. We have been astounded by your videos, photographs, time capsule project work and online Seesaw work created since March 12th .

A special thanks to our parents/guardians for working with the school daily, offering advice and remaining positive when challenges, especially technology challenges invariably happened.

Children—-Here is your Summer project –

  • Try to be the best person that you can be over the Summer
  •  Keep fit and active
  • Make time to visit family and friends
  • Take time away from all mobile phones, game consoles and laptops.
  • Create your own Summer ‘bucket list’.- 5 things you would like to do

Top of my Summer bucket list is to get you and our staff safely back to school. The Board of Management  and I will work tirelessly to make this happen. We have already followed DES and HSE guidelines to write up our Covod19 Policy and Response Plan.

Special Thanks

I would like to thank all the staff who helped to make our school website a vital link to our school community since March 12th. The weekly videos, messages and art work displays brought  us all together in a celebration of our children at play and at work.

In particular can I thank Mrs. Callan, Mr. O’ Connor and M.s Perkins for creating little mini-masterpieces that brightened up every week.

We all owe Lisa, Paul and Sharon a huge debt of gratitude for working tirelessly right through the crisis  to ensure our parents, children and staff received exceptional support at all hours of the day.. and sometimes night.

Finally, I would like to thank the school volunteers who created the activities packs and delivered food parcels over the past 12 weeks, even through the Easter break(and will deliver through the summer holidays). The selfless care you have shown to all our families has been exceptional and outstanding. You have really touched the hearts of the entire school community.

On behalf of the Board and all the staff have a lovely Summer.

We look forward to welcoming you all back  on 31st August.
