Digital Technology at St Joseph’s School: Creating, Coding, and Innovating Every Day

At St Joseph’s School, we believe that digital technology is not just an add-on — it’s a vital part of how we teach, learn, and grow together. Every day, our students are immersed in a future-focused learning environment that prepares them to be confident, creative, and capable digital citizens.

Chromebooks are a key part of our classrooms, giving students access to powerful tools like Google Workspace for collaboration, research, and interactive learning. But our digital journey doesn’t stop there.

We also bring innovation to life through:

  • Green screens – Our students use green screen technology to create videos, present research, and tell stories in imaginative and professional ways.

  • Coding – From basic programming to more advanced problem-solving, coding is integrated into learning to develop logic, creativity, and resilience.

  • 3D printing – Students design and print their own models, connecting digital design with real-world applications across subjects like art, science, and technology.

These tools aren’t used as occasional extras—they are embedded into our everyday teaching. Whether students are filming a historical re-enactment, building a 3D prototype, or debugging a line of code, they are actively engaged in hands-on, meaningful learning.

Our staff are passionate about using technology to enhance student engagement and deepen understanding. Most importantly, we guide students in using these tools safely, ethically, and with purpose.

At St Joseph’s, we are not just consumers of technology—we are creators, thinkers, and innovators.
