The students in Mr. Toner’s 6th Class had fun with an Autumn inspired project involving a spider’s web. They observed and responded to a picture of a Spider’s web. This picture was used as a stimulus for their art lesson and inspired them to create their own spider’s web on a display in their classroom.
They used paper, pencils, sharpies, crayons and colouring pencils to draw their own spider’s web with a spider. They chose 4-5 colours for their spider’s web to show the different levels of lightness and darkness of each colour. This gave them an opportunity to explore value as one of the key elements of art.
They used black paper, scissors and sticky eyes to create spiders that were glued onto their spider’s webs. The class worked collaboratively together to create a wall display in the classroom to showcase their work.
