The students in Mr. Toner’s class completed an art project on Moonlit winter silhouettes. The students created a value scale when creating the sky for this winter project. Some students chose blue for this but a couple of students experimented using purple and the end product was fantastic.

The students learned all about silhouettes during this project. They researched the definition and explored different examples of silhouettes before producing their own silhouettes for their projects to form the shapes of snowmen, trees and houses. They also used perspective to create a foreground, middle ground and background when creating their landscape through the use of three different sized trees.

The children really enjoyed this art project and they are looking forward to Spring!
