St. Joseph’s N.S. is very proud to have a strong relationship with the parent body of our school and we greatly appreciate the contribution and input parents make within our school community. The Parent Council which is a long established part of St. Joseph’s is vital to the smooth running of our school and has always been active in the promotion of a positive culture within the broad school community. We are also very proud in St. Joseph’s that our Parent Council reflects the rich, diverse nature of the entire school community and we value the support it provides.
It is rewarding for parents to feel included and valued in the education and holistic growth of their children and we acknowledge the contribution the council makes to this process.
In recent times the council has shown great leadership within our community in actively promoting and organizing events which are of great help to the school and the parent body. One such event was a Positive Parenting Evening which turned out to be very successful and was very well attended. Parents also helped out with the school book fair, the school disco and the purchase of Buddy Benches for the yard which have proved to be very popular with the children.
The council have reviewed and approved the implementation of our Anti-Bullying Policy, an important element in the successful management of the school.
The staff of St. Joseph’s are very grateful to the Parent Council for the help and support they give us.
