September 2022 marked a significant day in the history of St. Joseph’s N.S. We  were delighted to open our special class ‘Willow’ for pupils with a diagnosis of Autism. Willow is centrally located within our school with an amazing sensory space which pupils utilise daily.

In keeping with the ethos of “nurturing excellence in education” each pupil will have an individualised education plan and will be nurtured to develop their own unique potential.

Parents are an integral part of this learning journey. Communication is key and through a combination of daily diaries and regular parent teacher conferences we aim to include parents in all aspects of school life.

Each child will be supported in a class of 6 pupils, one teacher and 2 special needs assistants.Pupils will be integrated into mainstream classes as appropriate and will participate in  whole school events and activities.

We endeavour to enable each child to develop a range of new skills by employing a variety
of methodologies, each member of the Willow team is committed to providing a meaningful and magical educational experience for all pupils within our care.
