Mr. O’Connell’s 4th class recently finished their class novel The Butterfly Lion by renowned children’s author Michael Morpurgo.The story is an inspirational tale of a boy called Bertie who befriends a lion club. The story is set in South Africa, England and France before, during and after the First World War. The class learned about life in South Africa, in boarding schools and of the horrors of trench warfare. The story is one of bravery, resilience and love. The class really enjoyed the novel. They completed their book reviews afterwards. Safe to say the book got two thumbs up from all in Mr. O’Connell’s class.
